Survivor's Amputation Saves Life in Iowa Building Collapse.

Quanishia “Peach” White Berry and her wife, Lexus, filed a lawsuit against the city and the building’s owner for negligence after a building in Davenport, Iowa, partially collapsed, killing three people and destroying dozens of apartment units. Peach was trapped under rubble for eight hours and had to have her left leg amputated above the knee to be rescued. The lawsuit alleges that the building was not up to code and that complaints were known for some time. The couple is asking for an unspecified amount of money for damages that left Peach “permanently disabled” and “permanently disfigured.”
