Titanic Connections: OceanGate CEO and Pilot's Ties to Tragic Ship

Two of the five passengers who died in the submersible that imploded during a dive to view the Titanic had connections to the Bay Area. OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush Jr. was born into a prominent San Francisco family and received his business degree from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. Shahzada Dawood, a British Pakistani businessman, was on the board of trustees for the Mountain View nonprofit SETI Institute. The community at SETI was "deeply saddened" by the news of their deaths.
