NY State DOT Implements Measures to Prevent Bridge Strikes on Onondaga Lake Parkway.

New York officials plan to temporarily reduce traffic on Onondaga Lake Parkway from two to one lane in each direction as part of new efforts to stop trucks from striking the low railroad bridge over the busy roadway that connects Syracuse with Liverpool. The move is one of several changes from the state Department of Transportation that could affect thousands of commuters and drivers who use the parkway and a ramp off of Interstate 81 -- all in an effort to stop truck drivers from hitting the bridge every few weeks.
