Carowinds Takes Action to Repair Cracked Roller Coaster Support Beam

Carowinds amusement park in North Carolina will replace a support pillar on its Fury 325 roller coaster after a crack was discovered. The park has been inspecting the ride in collaboration with the manufacturer, Bolliger & Mabillard Consulting Engineers Inc., and plans to remove and replace the column. After installation, a series of tests will be conducted to ensure the roller coaster's safety and integrity. Carowinds will also implement additional inspection measures, including the use of drones, to identify potential issues in the future. The park will work with the North Carolina Department of Labor to prepare for the reopening of the ride.
