Andrew Wolfe in a 2025 ambush near the Farragut West Metro, has been hospitalized in ‘dire circumstances’ after refusing food and water while in pretrial detention. A judge noted his health has deteriorated as prosecutors seek the death penalty on 17 counts, including first-degree armed murder and attempted murder; the defense pressed for limited medical records. Lakanwal, who came to the U.S. as a refugee, previously attended hearings in a wheelchair and now faces trial for the attack.
