Fire briefly flares on Brooklyn Bridge during Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks
TL;DR
During Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks over the East River, flames briefly erupted on the Brooklyn Bridge and nearby launch platforms. Witnesses described smoke and bursts around the span; officials said the blazes were minor and on launch platforms, not the bridge itself, and they were extinguished by two FDNY engines. The bridge remains safe and structurally sound.
