NC doctor charged after interstate road-rage shooting injures two sisters

A North Carolina emergency physician, Dr. Richard Arriviello, 61, is jailed after allegedly firing into a moving Jeep on I-77 near the NC–Virginia line, injuring two sisters aged 12 and 20. He fled the scene and was arrested about 15 miles away; he faces multiple felony charges including malicious shooting into an occupied vehicle, malicious bodily harm with intent to maim, and using a firearm while committing a felony. The Jeep’s driver was cited for reckless driving. The victims’ injuries were non-life-threatening, Arriviello has been licensed since 2010 and owns Family Urgent Care in Monroe, and he’s due in court Sept. 29; it’s unclear if a firearm was recovered.
