Times Square Stabbing: Woman Attacks Two, One Dies, Suspect Fatally Shot by Police

A woman randomly stabbed two people in New York City’s Times Square, killing one, before being fatally shot by police. Authorities closed part of 7th Avenue as officers investigated. Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Police Commissioner Tisch praised the officers, noting the city’s violent-crime trend has fallen this year and adding that this marks the area’s second fatal incident this year after a May stabbing.
