Missouri Deputy Attorney General Rescued Alive After Six Days in Wyoming Backcountry

Shaun Mackelprang, a Missouri deputy attorney general, went missing after heading to Wyoming’s highest peak and was found alive near Scott Lake in the Wind River Range six days later. Rescuers located him dehydrated and disoriented and evacuated him by helicopter. He has been on a personal quest to summit the highest points in all 50 states, with Gannett Peak in Wyoming next on his list; his rescue was aided by the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office, drone teams, Tip Top Search and Rescue, and helicopter crews.
