Ross Fire swells to 90,000 acres as North Texas faces large wildfire

The Ross Fire in North Texas has grown to about 90,000 acres since it began near Palo Pinto County on Aug. 24, with roughly 31% containment and active spread as of Sept. 1; hot, dry conditions continue to fuel the flames, prompting evacuations and road closures while crews from outside the state bolster efforts.
