Mexico Immigration Detention Center Fire Kills 39 Migrants.

A fire at an immigration detention center in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, has left 39 dead and 29 injured. The fire was started by migrants protesting against their deportation, according to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. The facility held 68 men from Central and South America at the time of the fire. Tensions between authorities and migrants have been high in Ciudad Juarez, where shelters are full of people waiting to cross into the US or who have requested asylum there. Mexico has become the world’s third most popular destination for asylum-seekers, after the US and Germany.
