Braves DFA Perez as Dodd Rejoins Rotation
TL;DR
Atlanta designated left-hander Martin Perez for assignment to clear a roster spot for Dylan Dodd, who was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett. Perez, 35, is a long-tracked, volatile back-of-rotation option who posted mixed results and durability in recent seasons; he could clear waivers, accept a minor-league assignment, or test free agency. Dodd will serve as a long reliever for now as Atlanta uses a four-man rotation, with a potential Perez return around April 21 if needed.
