Braves put Murphy on 10-day IL with fractured finger, add León and Azócar

The Atlanta Braves placed catcher Sean Murphy on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left middle finger and signed catcher Sandy León to back up Mike Baldwin while promoting José Azócar to the active roster and optioning Jim Jarvis. Azócar is out of options and could face designation for assignment again when others return. Murphy’s injury followed a catcher-interference play, and X-rays confirmed the fracture with no return timetable yet. Atlanta also reinstated Ha-Seong Kim and placed Eli White on the concussion IL, leaving a regular outfield of Mike Yastrzemski, Michael Harris II and Mauricio Dubón with Azócar as depth.
