TL;DR

The Atlanta Braves selected Virginia outfielder AJ Gracia with the No. 9 pick in the 2026 MLB Draft. Gracia profiles as a left-handed hitter with a plus hit tool and strong on-base skills, offering future power potential while still filling out his frame. His strong 2026 Virginia line (.354/.489/.632, 14 HR, 48 RBI in 272 PA) supports the upside and a high floor, though exit velocity concerns linger. Scouts see an All-Star ceiling and a path to the big leagues by 2027, with defense likely moving to left field and fringe speed.
