Giants Move Teng to Astros, Clearing Roost for Bader with Catching Prospect Swap
TL;DR
San Francisco traded pitcher Kai-Wei Teng to Houston for catching prospect Jancel Villarroel and undisclosed international bonus money to create a 40-man roster spot for Harrison Bader; Teng, a 27-year-old right-hander with limited MLB success, provides depth, while Villarroel is a developing backstop in Houston’s system, which also designated JP France for assignment to open room.
