Guardians Move Cecconi to Bullpen, Promote Griffin to Start
TL;DR
Cleveland shuffled its pitching staff, moving Slade Cecconi from the rotation to the bullpen and promoting Foster Griffin to start in Thursday’s game vs. the Mets. Cecconi, who has a 4.78 ERA over 21 starts this year, will debut in relief for the team. In corresponding roster moves, the Guardians optioned Kyle Manzardo and David Fry to Triple-A Columbus and added Jo Adell and Nathaniel Lowe. Manzardo and Fry have underperformed this season, contributing to the decision to reshuffle and refresh the lineup and depth.
