Jo Adell Finds His Fit with the Guardians, Path Less Taken
Guardians outfielder Jo Adell, once the Angels’ top prospect chasing others’ expectations, has reinvented himself in Cleveland. After a childhood in Louisville that steered him from football due to epilepsy and a multi-sport youth, Adell blossomed last season with the Angels and now helps lead the Guardians’ late-season push, highlighted by a two-doubles night against the Padres. Off the field, he runs the Jo Adell Foundation to mentor Black youth, including guiding Daylen Lile, embodying a journey from the “path less chosen” to postseason relevance in Cleveland through a recent trade deadline acquisition.
