UNC eyes Momo Faye to fortify frontcourt with shot-blocking presence
TL;DR
UNC is weighing 6'10" Senegalese center Mouhamed “Momo” Faye, who plays for Paris Basketball in France's LNB Elite and the EuroLeague, as an older frontcourt addition to bolster defense and rim protection. At 21, he would be older than UNC’s incoming freshmen and brings a proven paint presence, though scouts say he needs to expand his shooting range and improve free-throw shooting. His ascent from Italy to Europe and interest from college staffs, and the potential to join fellow Senegalese Tar Heel Makhtar N’Diaye, are noted aspects of the discussion.
