Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper faces domestic-violence charges

Denver Broncos outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper and his girlfriend were arrested in Douglas County on two counts of domestic violence and one count of criminal mischief after a dispute over cheating allegations; the arrest affidavit describes a struggle during which Cooper allegedly restrained his girlfriend from taking his phone and she admitted grabbing and throwing it, while Cooper allegedly damaged the phone by biting it. Cooper was released on personal recognizance after a hearing, and the Broncos said they’re gathering more information as the case is reviewed under the NFL personal conduct policy, which could lead to discipline.
