Accuser Drops Rape Lawsuit Against Ex-Punter Matt Araiza

Former San Diego State and Buffalo Bills punter, Matt Araiza, has reached an agreement with his accuser, leading to the dismissal of lawsuits tied to accusations of sexual assault. The allegations against Araiza will be dropped without a monetary settlement, and he will also be dropping his defamation suit against the young woman. Araiza had been released from the Bills in August 2022 after being named in a lawsuit detailing claims of a gang rape. Prosecutors did not pursue criminal charges against him, and Araiza has maintained his innocence. He plans to pursue legal action against the accuser's attorney, while the case against the other SDSU players named in the complaint continues. Araiza hopes to resume his punting career in the NFL.
