Cecily Tynan to Retire After 30+ Years as Philadelphia’s Action News Chief Meteorologist

Cecily Tynan, Action News' chief meteorologist at 6abc WPVI-TV, announced her retirement after more than three decades with the station, with her final broadcast on Aug. 31, 2026. Joining 6abc in 1995 and serving as chief since 2009, she led weather coverage through major storms and seasonal forecasts, earning local recognition. She plans to spend winters in Florida, travel, and enjoy time with her husband, their two children, and three rescue dogs.
