RFK's Preece hit with 25-point, $50K penalty after Ty Gibbs incident at Texas

Ryan Preece was penalized 25 Cup Series championship points and fined $50,000 after an on-track incident with Ty Gibbs in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway, with NASCAR citing conduct rules (sections 4.3 and 4.4.A) that cover wrecking or spinning another vehicle. A separate Truck Series penalty also fined Layne Riggs’ crew chief Dylan Cappello $2,500 and suspended him from the next Truck Series points race for lug-nuts not properly installed.
