Guardians land Jo Adell, injecting lefty power from Angels
TL;DR
The Cleveland Guardians acquired outfielder Jo Adell from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for catching prospect Jacob Cozart, and designated Juan Brito for assignment to clear a roster spot. Adell brings left-handed power (152 wRC+ vs LHP over the past two years) but has limited production against right-handed pitching and is not a standout defender in left field; he is under team control through 2027. The move addresses the Guardians’ need vs. left-handed pitching and could pave the way for additional trades or roster tweaks.
