TL;DR

Indiana coach Curt Cignetti led the Hoosiers to a national championship in just his second year with a roster built largely from transfers rather than five-star recruits, including 23 transfers and QB Fernando Mendoza, and defeated Miami 27-21 after toppling Alabama, Oregon and Ohio State. College GameDay host Dan Wetzel compared the feat to Brad Stevens' Butler teams, arguing the transfer portal and rapid roster turnover made this Cinderella run possible, culminating in a 16-0 stretch.
