Alabama Adds Former Michigan Coach to Staff for Rose Bowl

Alabama has reportedly hired former Michigan assistant coach George Helow ahead of their Rose Bowl matchup against Michigan. Helow, who departed the Michigan staff in February, will bring intimate knowledge of the Wolverines' defensive scheme to the Crimson Tide. The 36-year-old coach previously worked at Alabama as an intern in 2012 and has had coaching stints at various other schools. The hire comes as Alabama's outside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator recently accepted a defensive coordinator position at Mississippi State.
