Ali Sánchez Promoted as Yankees Shuffle Catcher Duties Amid Judge Injury
TL;DR
The Yankees demote backup catcher J.C. Escarra and promote Ali Sánchez, providing a right-handed catching option while Aaron Judge recovers from a rib fracture. The move comes as Judge’s absence prompts lineup adjustments and could influence late-season decisions and trade-deadline plans, with players like Spencer Jones, Jasson Domínguez, and Giancarlo Stanton likely to take on bigger roles.
