TL;DR

Ball State University has fired head football coach Mike Neu after a disappointing 3-7 season, marking the team's fourth consecutive losing season. Neu, who had a 40-63 record over nine seasons, led the Cardinals to a MAC title in 2020, his only winning season. Offensive line coach Colin Johnson will serve as interim head coach for the remaining games. Despite Neu's strong reputation and positive impact on the team culture, the lack of consistent results led to his dismissal.
