Bengals push for annual Black Friday game in Cincinnati.

The NFL will have its first-ever Black Friday game in 2023 between the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins. The Cincinnati Bengals had volunteered to play on Black Friday annually, hoping to make it a tradition like the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions playing at home on Thanksgiving. The NFL considered a Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game but chose the Jets vs. Dolphins due to New York being the No. 1 retail market in the country. The addition of future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the Jets made them a more appealing choice for the holiday game. The league also considered featuring a New York team in the Thanksgiving Day Parade.
