Byron Tops Michigan Practice as Buescher and Chastain Lead Group 1 Pace

In Michigan’s Group 1 NASCAR Cup practice for the FireKeepers Casino 400, William Byron led the session with strong pace and said his car was tight in turns but balanced overall; Chris Buescher posted the best overall speed, while Ross Chastain showed strong 15- and 20-lap averages. Todd Gilliland battled a loose-handling car and didn’t post a 5-lap run; Austin Cindric suffered a flat tire early and didn’t record a 5-lap average; Alex Bowman started with a short run and, after adjustments, finished down the speeds with a late 5-lap average around 34th.
