Cubs Release Pitchers Amid Roster Changes and Newcomer Integration
TL;DR
The Cubs released pitcher Chris Flexen after he declined an outright assignment, ending his brief stint with the team where he posted a 3.06 ERA over 43 2/3 innings. Flexen, who initially performed well, struggled in July leading to his release, but he remains a potential candidate for future minor league or major league opportunities.
