The bankruptcy of Diamond Sports Group, which holds the television broadcast rights of the Braves and 12 other teams, will not affect payments to the teams. The U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of Texas ruled that Diamond is responsible for full payment regardless of the present economic circumstances. MLB is willing to step in to protect teams and their rights payments. The court also heard how they were not happy that they were outbid for the RSNs. The hearing is likely to be one of many accidents in the twenty-car pileup that is Diamond Sports Group’s Bankruptcy.
