TL;DR

Eric Gordon, the new Phoenix Suns guard, has ties to Arizona dating back to 2012 when he almost joined the team. However, his four-year deal was matched by the New Orleans Hornets. Gordon had also spurned Illinois in 2007 when he switched his commitment from the University of Illinois to the University of Indiana. Additionally, Gordon's younger brother, Evan, played for the Arizona State Sun Devils in the 2012-2013 season.
