Florida State Faces NCAA Sanctions for NIL Violations

The NCAA is set to impose significant penalties on Florida State, including disassociating with an NIL collective representative, for name, image, and likeness (NIL)-related recruiting violations. The sanctions, negotiated between the school and the NCAA, involve an assistant coach, offensive coordinator Alex Atkins, who will be suspended for three games and given a two-year show-cause. Other penalties include probation, scholarship reductions, and a financial penalty. The NCAA's enforcement staff also addressed general NIL-related rules violations, including tampering and inducements, during a session at the NCAA convention.
