"Giants' Opening Day Roster: Luciano Demoted, Ahmed Wins Shortstop Job"
TL;DR
Giants' manager Bob Melvin made some surprising roster choices for the team's Opening Day, including tough cuts for outfielder Luis Matos despite his strong performance in spring training, and opting for veteran Nick Ahmed over young talent Marco Luciano. The team is also dealing with roster imbalances and carrying three catchers for the time being, with plans to make adjustments as needed. Additionally, young pitchers Landen Roupp and Erik Miller made the bullpen, while Daulton Jefferies could still join the roster soon.
