Kevin Maxen, the associate strength coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars, has become the first male coach in major U.S. men's pro sports to come out as gay. Maxen hopes to inspire others to live authentically and openly, stating that he no longer wants to feel the need to hide his relationship or fear how people will react. He reached out to Outsports after being inspired by the coming out of NFL player Carl Nassib. Maxen has been dating his boyfriend, Nick, for over two years.
