"KC Royals Set to Unveil Crossroads Location for New Downtown Stadium"
TL;DR
The Kansas City Royals are set to announce the selection of a downtown baseball stadium site, reportedly in the Crossroads near the former Star printing press, with a press conference scheduled for tomorrow. The site's proximity to existing entertainment districts and plans for construction over I-670 are noted, while questions arise about land assembly and potential use of eminent domain. The total cost of the ballpark is estimated at $1 billion, with funding sources including a proposed sales tax extension and private financing. The Royals are expected to share more details about the project, including renderings and economic data, at the upcoming announcement.
