LAFC manager Steve Cherundolo criticized Major League Soccer for allowing the match against Real Salt Lake to continue in blizzard-like conditions, calling it an "absolute disgrace" and "one of the worst professional sporting events" he's ever seen. The game was initially delayed due to heavy wind and lightning, and play was stopped multiple times due to the snowstorm. Cherundolo expressed concern for the players' well-being and stated that the match should have been called off.
