Lions activate Hendon Hooker, waive Riley Patterson to make room

The Detroit Lions have activated rookie quarterback Hendon Hooker from the non-football injury list, allowing him to practice with the team for the remainder of the season. Hooker, who tore his ACL in college, is currently behind Jared Goff and Teddy Bridgewater on the depth chart but could potentially move up to the No. 2 spot next year. In a corresponding move, the Lions waived kicker Riley Patterson and elevated Michael Badgley from the practice squad to continue as the team's kicker.
