Lions Camp Day: Edge Rushers Out, Jabari Small Returns to Practice

Detroit Lions trimmed practice with a mix of returns and absences: Jabari Small returned to drills after a concussion, though he finished by sprinting with a trainer during team work; Miles Frazier wore a left-leg wrap, and Nick Whiteside worked at safety as cornerback depth remains thin. Not practicing were RB Isiah Pacheco, OT Giovanni Manu, C Cade Mays, G Michael Niese, and edge rushers Payton Turner, Derrick Moore, Ahmed Hassanein. Trevor Nowaske left Tuesday with a minor strain but is expected to be fine; safety Christian Izien is uncertain for the opener vs New Orleans but the team expects to get him back later. Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch remain on the PUP list, and Thomas Harper is dealing with an ankle. Detroit will finish camp with Thursday’s finale.
