McIlroy’s laser focus seals Masters win as Young fades in final pairing
TL;DR
Rory McIlroy and Cam Young headed into the Masters' final round tied at 11-under, but McIlroy’s steely, low-talk approach helped him edge to 12-under and the green jacket as Young faded after a late lift. Young briefly led following a McIlroy double-bogey on the fourth, but bogeys on six, seven and nine doomed him to a tie for third as Scottie Scheffler finished one shot back at 11-under.
