Mets' Francisco Alvarez sidelined by torn meniscus, placed on IL
TL;DR
The New York Mets placed catcher Francisco Alvarez on the 10-day injured list with a torn right knee meniscus after an MRI confirmed the injury; Hayden Senger was recalled and will split catching duties with Luis Torrens while Alvarez is out, a setback for a lineup already battered by injuries as Alvarez had been hitting .241/.317/.393 this season.
