TL;DR

Chris Shula has been promoted to defensive coordinator for the Rams, having been with the team since 2017 and rising through the coaching staff ranks. The 37-year-old, who has a longstanding connection with head coach Sean McVay, fills the vacancy left by Raheem Morris. Shula's quick promotion may have been prompted by the Dolphins' interest in him for their own defensive coordinator position.
