Penn State Nears Hiring Former Indiana Coach Tom Allen as Defensive Coordinator
TL;DR
Penn State is expected to hire former Indiana head coach Tom Allen as its defensive coordinator, replacing Manny Diaz who left to become the Duke head coach. Allen, who went 33-49 in seven seasons as Indiana's head coach, fits the description of what Penn State head coach James Franklin was looking for in a coordinator. The hiring allows Allen to familiarize himself with the program during bowl practices and gives Penn State's 2024 recruiting class clarity on their coordinator.
