Rick Pitino shakes up St. John's basketball roster with new plan.

Rick Pitino, the new head coach of St. John's men's basketball team, stated that many of the current players may not return next season as they may not be a good fit for his fast-paced style of play. Pitino, a Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer, has been brought in to make St. John's a Big East contender. He plans to recruit players who are "over-the-top, in love with the game of basketball." Pitino has a successful coaching record, having won two conference tournaments and earning two trips to the NCAA Tournament in his three seasons with Iona.
