Sox Promote Schultz Ahead of MLB Debut vs Rays
TL;DR
The Chicago White Sox promote left-handed pitching prospect Noah Schultz to the majors, with a scheduled Tuesday debut against the Rays to help fill a rotation gap after Shane Smith was sent down and Jonathan Cannon nears a return. Schultz has pitched well in Triple-A, delivering a four-inning hitless start followed by five innings with one earned run, all while posting a high strikeout rate. His ascension gives Chicago a second lefty in the mix behind Anthony Kay as Grant Taylor continues to open games, and comes as the club expects Cannon to join soon.
