Forte's trainer, Todd Pletcher, has been suspended for 10 days and fined $1,000 following a positive drug test that led to Forte's disqualification from the 2022 Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes. Forte's owners must also forfeit the $165,000 purse earnings from the race. Pletcher plans to appeal the suspension. Forte was scratched from the Kentucky Derby due to a bruised right foot and is currently on the vet's list, meaning he will miss the Preakness Stakes on May 20.
