Yankees Fall to Cubs Due to Errors and Bullpen Struggles
TL;DR
The New York Yankees ended the first half of their disappointing season with a 7-4 loss to the Chicago Cubs, despite out-hitting them. A crucial error by Gleyber Torres in the seventh inning opened the door for the Cubs to score, and the Yankees' bullpen failed to hold a 4-1 lead. Domingo Germán had a strong outing, but the lackluster offense and shaky defense contributed to the loss. The Yankees currently sit in fourth place and are not in playoff position.
