Bryce Young outperformed C.J. Stroud in a matchup of the top two picks of the draft, leading the Carolina Panthers to their first win of the season with a 15-13 victory over the Houston Texans. Young completed 22 of 31 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown, while Stroud completed 16 of 24 passes for 140 yards. This was only the fifth time in the common draft era that the top two picks of the same draft met as rookies.
