"Mass Layoffs at Microsoft Impact Activision Blizzard and Xbox Teams"

Microsoft is laying off 1,900 employees at Activision Blizzard and Xbox, representing about 8 percent of the overall Microsoft Gaming division. The layoffs come just three months after Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Alongside the cuts, Blizzard president Mike Ybarra and Blizzard’s chief design officer Allen Adham are leaving the company, and a previously announced survival game has been canceled. These layoffs follow similar announcements from other tech and gaming companies this month, and come after Microsoft's completion of the $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard in October.
