Intel Sells Server Business to MiTAC in Major Move

Intel has confirmed that it is exiting its server business and selling it to MiTAC, as part of its efforts to prioritize investments in its IDM 2.0 strategy. Intel's core business is selling silicon, not sheet metal, and designing and building server chips is hard with perhaps the number of players being counted on one hand. The server business had less marketing push behind it than the Barefoot business, and selling servers is not Intel's core business.
